There's turmoil in the air
atomic bombs,bank holiday,
I'll stay away from motorways
find a sleepy lane,a dreamy pub,
watch the children swing and slide,
crisps and parents laughter
grandpa with a whisky,water in a jug
fish and chips and pints,
grandma supping Guinness.
Dogs,Morris men,nostalgia in the air
forget the bomb, the flu and scandals
we don't need to know and
without the papers we would not;
are we any much the wiser?
just one day to break the cycle,
storms this afternoon have another beer,
tomorrow 's soon enough, too soon enough
Julie's fallen off the swing,
Johnny's wet his trousers.

My pub is called The Tiddly a name I am told which travels the world.by kind permission of airmen of WW2.Originally the Royal Oak a name which hangs on the old swinging sign along with The Tiddly on the walls. It took ages to become accepted;they love well behaved dogs.Take care

Similar to what I did on Bank Holiday Monday! Got away from it all to a park in Warwick, playing mini-golf and watching people enjoy themselves, away from all the world events!

The menu at my pub "If you find yourself waiting more than 15 minutes relax...you are in the country "

Nice to visit a place like this. But unfortunately plastic palaces have taken over. Just got back from The Bull and oddly enough it is a "Fish and Chips" night. A moment on the lips = a lifetime on the hips.
